The UP-800 series
continues the Sharp tradition and features the stable and robust Sharp
EPROM platform. The machine is easy to use and set-up with lead
in menus helps to guide users through each programming step.
The operator key is
non-contact and uses 64-bit encrypted operator codes, which ensures
the highest degree of security. An optional magnetic card reader is
also available for customer tracking.
In addition a standard
Ethernet interface board enables a number of terminals to be
networked. This high-speed in-line system enables master-to-satellite
transmission of preset data – and also allows sales data from all
satellite terminals to be sent to the master. This brings
significant time savings through automatic totalling, as reports can
be generated much more efficiently.
Another unique feature
is the printer routing function from non- printer terminals to
integrated printer terminals, which means that a flexible combination
of UP-800 and UP-810 can be deployed.

SHARP UP600 & UP700 Cash Register
Two point of sale terminals designed for retail (UP600) and
hospitality (UP700) with a uniquely efficient way of communicating.
Both models models offer more sophisticated operation than is usually
found in terminals of this class, making them ideal for expanding
businesses. This comes from the ability to create a network, in one
building, of up to 16 mixed UP600 and UP700 terminals. As part of a
network, changes can be made on the master or slave terminals and
downloaded to the rest of the network, reducing the time spent on a
previously time consuming job.
Every possible detail has been catered for from silent thermal
printing that does not disturb customers and reduces transaction time
to the ability to set different prices on different terminals on a
network to the tiltable back lit LCD screen, which utilises Sharp's
leading edge LCD technology, enabling the operator to see up to eight
lines of information even in low light environments. These models also
have easy scanning, should items make it to the checkout without being
entered into the master product file, they can be scanned during the
sales transaction and added to the master file.
The UP600 and UP700 are ideal for businesses planning to expand -
